Telemarketing has been around for many years and remains much the same. It is believed that the direct marketing industry first got started in the 1950s. However, in recent years, the laws guiding telemarketers have become much stricter, which has made it much harder for the telemarketing companies to work. Consequently, telemarketers have turned to other avenues for generating income and profits. Internet marketing strategy is a new form of telemarketing that takes advantage of the many people who are online.

The earliest forms of telemarketing were generally used to sell magazine subscriptions to customers through the phone, using a system of database marketing. Gradually, more and more soliciting was done over the phone, until it got to the point that telemarketing calls were being made at all hours of the day and evening. At this point, the government stepped in and started invoking laws for direct marketing so that the telemarketing companies were not able to call as often. This was good for customers, but of course, it was bad for the telemarketing companies. Some of the laws that were imposed on the telemarketing companies encompassed things such as the time when they could call, being required to stop calling if someone asked to be removed from the call list, and introducing the national do not call registry. This enabled people to take themselves off of any telemarketing list, making it illegal to call them for any kind of solicitation. With so many people taking themselves off of the solicitation lists, the telemarketing companies have had to turn to other means of income generation to keep themselves in business. Now, many telemarketing companies are turning to online marketing to keep turning a profit.

Telemarketing through online marketing is run a little differently than the traditional telemarketing sales format. Some telemarketing companies are retaining their phone processes, and are incorporating the internet into the old way of doing business. How does this work, you may be asking yourself? Well, during the phone call, rather than completing the whole transaction at one time, telemarketers set up internet appointments to further go over the products or services that they are trying to sell. Another way that telemarketing is bleeding into the internet is by having people work from home, rather than all together in one place. People can sign up on the internet to call people for different telemarketing companies. This saves the company money, and it also enables people to be able to work from home. Another way that telemarketers are joining the online world is by completely changing their focus from database marketing to an internet marketing strategy. Someone is more likely to click on an internet ad about a product than they are to listen to telephone sales calls during the dinner hour. So joining the internet world is a good move for telemarketing companies.

When the internet was first started, no one knew that it would be used to advertise as much as it is today. Many telemarketing companies are incorporating the idea of a virtual call center into their work strategies. Still other marketing professional companies are getting out of the phone business altogether. It is plain to see that an internet marketing strategy is required for the business of the future.

Use Resource Boxes to Promote Your Website

by Tricia on November 30, 2008

People’s Need for Information

You can group people that browse the Web according to purpose, but in general they are out to search information. Whether for retail, investigation, shopping or what have you, the Internet has always been a good source of accessible information.

You can exploit people’s penchant for information through the Web to augment your site’s traffic; what’s Article Marketing? More and more sites have seen the effects informative articles to their sites’ traffic. Some have even created sites devoted entirely to providing highly informative articles that are linked to other sites that are related to the topic of the articles.

One website may have a single topic, or it could have hundreds or different topics. As a website visitor reads the articles they have searched for, they can find at the end a resource box that can be clicked on to link them to the site that has submitted the article. This is a good way to open other articles related to the website’s niche. Let’s say if the article is about medical software, the resource box may lead to another site that sells useful medical software solutions for doctors.

Resource Box: What it is, and what are its benefits

A resource box is what the readers usually find at the end of an article. They contain the name of the author, a brief description about him, a brief description of the sponsoring site, and the link. If the readers like what they read, they are given a way to trace where the article is from to see more related information. The resource box is their gateway to more information, and they may even try a useful product to help with their needs.

But like the article itself, the resource box must also be eye-catching to demand the attention and interest of the reader. While the resource box occupy only a small space, providing the right keywords and contents in a resource box is enough to compel the reader to click the link.

Now that we know what resource boxes are, we are going to take a look at the benefits of having a good resource box. Mainly it’s driving traffic to your site. Many website owners would allow articles to be placed in their sites because they can make use of the articles to fill their pages. They also get affiliation with other sites that can be beneficial for them as well. The sponsoring site can get the traffic they need and possibly convert that traffic to a positive sale – a win-win solution to the website owner and the author of the article.

What Comprises a Good Resource Box?

So what would be a good content for your resource box? Basically it is keywords. But before you can choose the right keywords, you need to learn how to choose the proper keyword that people are mainly searching for in your niche. There are many tools you can find on the Internet that can help you in determining what keywords to use.

You need to be creative in your resource box content. Resource boxes are tight so that you need to make the most out of the small space. That’s why it’s important to write a resource box that demands a second look. Unlike TV ads, you don’t have visual aids to drive your point in. But you do have the power of imagination of your readers – exploit it in good way. Spark their attention with an intriguing content.

Another tip is to use keywords that should be related to your site. Do not mislead your potential website visitors. Build your credibility so that more people would get enticed to visit your site and browse what you have to offer. Make the people click your resource box by providing resource box content that makes a lasting impression. You only get one chance to wow them and hundreds of chances to repulse them.

Never underestimate the power of the resource box. It may be small in size but they will provide a significant aid in driving traffic to your site. A boring resource box will never get the job done. Be funny and creative but at the same time show that you have a great deal to offer, too much to ask for something that couldn’t fit a paragraph? Yes and no, there are many tips and guides that can help you in doing this. You have just mastered the first step because you now know how important a resource box in article marketing.

Your own Internet Marketing Course will give you the financial edge that other online marketers are talking about or experiencing. It’s hard to make money at a constant rate online unless you actually have your own products to sell. Creating a product of their own is not for everyone as it takes dedication. If you believe you have the dedication to do it, then let me show you the three most common methods to create your own marketing course.

Product Creation Method #1 – Use Private Label Rights
Private Label Rights (PLR) are all the rage right now online. In short, PLR means taking an existing product or item for which you have purchased the PLR rights, make it your own product and sell it. PLR rights basically mean “The Rights to Label it as your Own”. The only problem is that almost anyone can access these, either free or usually at a low fee, and so many of them become less valuable. You might strike gold when you secure PLR rights to a product that’s not widely distributed. Just hire someone to rebrand the product, repackage it with your own graphics and promote it and wait for the money.

Product Creation Method #2 – Make Your Own Videos
Just about everyone will agree that videos have quickly become the latest Internet sensation. This same trend applies to online Internet marketing courses. With videos, customers can be given step by step instructions that they can follow along with. A different but terrific way to utilize video is by making instructional videos around a product for which you are an affiliate. After making your instruction videos, offer them as a free reward for people who make purchases through your affiliate link (for which you get a commission).

The power of videos provides far more weight in the sales process than do regular written reports.

Product Creation Method #3 – Record Audio Interviews
Not only are there few people actually using this method (especially when compared to PLR) but this method also allows you to gain trustworthiness and credibility more easily. The best part is the fact that there are plenty of marketers willing to offer thirty or even sixty minutes in exchange for some free promotion. Just tell them that you working on a product you’ll be promoting heavily and you would like to include the interview as well as references and links to their product. Consider to tell them a bit about your marketing plan in your initial email or phone call so they’ll know the interview won’t be a waste of their time. Let them know that you’ll plug their product or service in the course and they will most likely agree to help you. After recording the audio interview, rinse and repeat with other marketers, add some “packaging” and your course is ready to go.

These are merely a sampling of proven techniques that anyone can use to try and make a nice profit online. Other techniques include authoring an eBook, making graphics, or providing a set of templates. You can read more about these on Online Marketing for Beginners. The most important step you must take after developing an Internet marketing course is to do proper promotion of it from a variety of outlets, the most important one being affiliates. Deposit your checks, and remember to send me some of the proceeds ;)
