Pros and Cons of Using Adsense

People that have had a website for awhile and are getting some hits on it but not really making any money, may want to consider using AdSense advertising.

We will look at some of the pro’s and con’s to this type of approach to advertising on the internet. AdSense has definitely hit the Internet like something from another planet and people are very excited about it everywhere. However, there are some negative points to consider about using Adsense.

If you are a webmaster, AdSense is a generally a great tool for you to use. Whereas, they would use to worry about how to raise enough money to keep their sites profitable, or at least keep them on-line, so those worries are gone.

AdSense allows webmasters to forget about those worries and concentrate on creating good content for their sites. The emphasis for them is on high quality articles that are associated with keywords or keyword phrases that will untimely help increase your website traffic.

You can also, work with Adsense to better customize your website color theme, size and article placement, and this will allow you to come up with the best format that you like, plus it will help to increase your profits.

People appreciate the way AdSense works to bring in a consistence source of income to your site. All you need to do is create some quality content and keep it updated constantly, then you can literally live off your website. More and more people are using AdSense now and it is becoming more of a business within it’s self.

With this program you can use the same account to advertise all your different pages without duplicate effort. This is great for webmasters wit a lot of content because it means they don’t have to create many accounts unnecessarily.

Remember as we previously mentioned, there are some trouble spots with advertising with AdSense that we should look at too.

The main negative aspect that you should be most concerned about is if Google closes your Adsense account. Most of the time this happens because of so called “click fraud”, which means somebody would be producing artificial clicks on your page.

The big downfall of this is that it could be anyone doing these artificial clicks, not just the page owner.

It could very well be your competition doing this in order to shut you down, or the competitor of whoever is advertising on your page, looking to drive their marketing costs up.

The money people generally make on Adsense is not very consistent. For many it is very sporadic at times. You could end up having to pay a great deal of money, if you make a mistake and don’t know what you are doing. This type of negative pressure can effect you and impact your business.

First of all, you constantly need to make sure your site is in the spotlight of search engines when people are searching for whatever it is your site is about.

If you fail to do that, you won’t have any visitors, and that of course means you won’t have any AdSense revenue.

Finally, another major problem is that you constantly have to feed your site with better and better content. Now, of course, certain sites are very well geared towards doing this but with some types of content this is rather hard to achieve. This is often why the services of a copywriter are employed to generate more and more content.

When writing original content, the best thing a website owner can do is research a topic thoroughly and then return to writing with lots of information, that they can use in their own words, and show their own opinion on.

As you can see there are both pros and cons in using Google AdSense to make a profit with advertising. Each person must decide for themselves if this is something that will work for their internet business or not.

Telemarketing has been around for many years and remains much the same. It is believed that the direct marketing industry first got started in the 1950s. However, in recent years, the laws guiding telemarketers have become much stricter, which has made it much harder for the telemarketing companies to work. At this point, the government stepped in and started invoking laws for direct marketing so that the telemarketing companies were not able to call as often. This was good for customers, but of course, it was bad for the telemarketing companies. Some of the laws that were imposed on the telemarketing companies encompassed things such as the time when they could call, being required to stop calling if someone asked to be removed from the call list, and introducing the national do not call registry. This enabled people to take themselves off of any telemarketing list, making it illegal to call them for any kind of solicitation. With so many people taking themselves off of the solicitation lists, the telemarketing companies have had to turn to other means of income generation to keep themselves in business. Now, many telemarketing companies are turning to online marketing to keep turning a profit.

Telemarketing through online marketing is run a little differently than the traditional telemarketing sales format. Some telemarketing companies are retaining their phone processes, and are incorporating the internet into the old way of doing business. How does this work, you may be asking yourself? Well, during the phone call, rather than completing the whole transaction at one time, telemarketers set up internet appointments to further go over the products or services that they are trying to sell. Another way that telemarketing is bleeding into the internet is by having people work from home, rather than all together in one place. People can sign up on the internet to call people for different telemarketing companies. This saves the company money, and it also enables people to be able to work from home. Another way that telemarketers are joining the online world is by completely changing their focus from database marketing to an internet marketing strategy. Someone is more likely to click on an internet ad about a product than they are to listen to telephone sales calls during the dinner hour. So joining the internet world is a good move for telemarketing companies.

When the internet was first started, no one knew that it would be used to advertise as much as it is today. Many telemarketing companies are incorporating the idea of a virtual call center into their work strategies. Still other marketing professional companies are getting out of the phone business altogether. It is plain to see that an internet marketing strategy is required for the business of the future.

Being an affiliate is one of the best deals going for most online marketers, but as more people try their hand at marketing products and services online, so the competition rises.

We're reaching a point where website visitors are more precious than ever, and subsequently harder to obtain.

Therefore, it is paramount that we, as affiliate marketers are able to convert as many of these visitors into buyers.

After all, by converting more people we don’t have to spend so much time on hunting down more traffic to our sites and can increase our affiliate checks without overloading our bandwidth.

So the question is, what can you do today to increase affiliate commissions from the same amount of website visitors? Luckily, there are quite a few things you can do to increase the chances of a sale and improve your conversions, so let’s take a look…

1. Place your main offer in the top fold of the page

According to numerous tests, having the offer jammed right in the visitor’s face, such as in the header of the page, will increase the chances of a click, and a subsequent sale. Don’t worry about being obnoxious, people should still be able to easily access your content, but will repeatedly see the main offer first on every relevant page (preferably all pages of the same site).

2. Add more affiliate links with persuasive anchor text

It makes sense that the more times you ask for the sale (or just the click) then the more chances it will actually happen. The old adage of “If you don’t ask then you don’t get” always springs to mind here. Listen, it isn't neccessary to drown your page with links, just put links within the content and not just at the end. Furthermore, refrain from using links that just describe the product name or show the domain of the affiliated site. It’s far better to use anchor text such as “Get relief from your back pain today” than a simple link such as www.amazingwebsiteaboutbackpainrelief.us.uk

3. Create painful, focused content

It is far better to use content that ties in directly with the visitor’s pain and predominant problems. That way, they will have more incentive to do something after reading your focused content. For example, you could write an article about the different types of back pain and a few ways to temporarily relieve it, but then provide plenty of affiliate links to the only real solution.

These are just some of the ways you can increase website conversions for affiliate offers, but I admit that they take time and effort to craft and test.

Creating content that presell’s people is a great affiliate marketing model, but by no means the easiest way to make large commissions from affiliate marketing.
