Publish That Ebook!

by Tricia on October 3, 2009

Virtually anybody can be a writer so long as they can remained focused and know how to type. Ebooks are sweeping the nation, and are usually cheaper then buying a real book. A regular computer book might go for $75 while an ebook with the same information can be $25. Does the money sound good to you? Well, if so, write your own Ebook! If you are interested in earning a good amount of money on the internet, marketing ebooks is not a bad way to go.

How to start off and write your Ebook

1)  Revisit your old grammar days. Brush up on your sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation skills. Even if that means doing some research online so that you can write properly. It helps to read as much as possible and to see how others write. It can give you options, and let you see into the eyes of other writers.

2) Create an outline. This is one of the most effective ways to see what you’re going to write and edit it. Creating an outline is what every rich author has done in their past. It is a sure fire way to write a great book and has been proven time and again.

3) Consider doing more research on your chosen topic, even if you think you already know everything.  It never hurts to know more then you already did, in actuality it will just give you more life knowledge. Surely you’ve heard, knowledge is power?

4) Decide on a price. A lot of people want to charge outrageous prices for only a few tips and tricks. They might make a few sales, but not many. Try offering more information but at a lower price. Sure, the profit per sale is lower, but there will be more buyers! More buyers on a lower price is better then few buyers on a more expensive price. You need to be sure you put as much valuable information in you ebook as you possibly can. If you make the purchase worth your reader’s time, he or she will be more likely turn to you for more information in the future.

5) Write the Ebook. While you are doing the writing it may be a good idea to also start incorporating so photos too. It is also a good idea to cite resources, which gives your content more value. Customers want to feel like you got ripped off, not them. So while writing your Ebook, put a lot of effort into it, as well as make sure that it makes sense! Don’t trail off topic as your writing. People are not impressed by it. It will definitely give you bad reviews.

6) Get another opinion. After you are done writing your ebook it may be a good idea to get some sleep. The next day or two days later, go and edit it. If you do it as soon as you are done with the writing, you will likely end up missing many errors. It is also not a bad idea to get a professional to help you edit and make any necessary revisions. While your content is indeed very important, how it is written is almost as important as what is written. If your readers are unable to follow, or the book doesn’t flow well, it’s kind of a waste of your time.

How to Build a Mini Site

by Tricia on September 8, 2009

Create Ebook Covers Video Tutorial

If you want to make money online, creating and marketing with mini-sites is perhaps the fastest and cheapest way to achieve your goals.

Firstly, a “mini site” is targeted to a very tight niche market, and delivers very specialized content, usually in the form of a membership. Mini-sites are not like blogs or other type of content sites; they sell access to the information within. A mini-site can have at bare minimum two pages; the sales page and the download page. Larger minisites may have more pages but generally its not above 10 pages.

Although SEO or Search Engine Optimization is important when building minisites, it’s not the key success factor. Since your content is mostly in PDF / audio / video format, Google will never find it gve it proper ranking. Therefore if you want to create and sell mini-sites, you need affiliates – and LOTS of them. Knowledge in PPC or Pay Per Click marketing helps as well, especially when your site is new and you don’t already own a list you can market to.

The most important part of any mini sites, besides the content, is the sales page. You need to understand how to write basic sales copy that sells, and also arm yourself with a lot of salespage images and other images you can use to make your copy look appealing. Creating a pure-text sales copy is a big mistake, but most people still do it.

The overall design and appearance of your mini sites also matters. You can either hire someone to create your design or you can buy ready-made mini site templates and easily put together a stunning site yourself.

Of course, in the long run you’ll also want to learn basic image creation and image editing skills to help lower the cost of creating minisites. GIMP is another option to consider instead of PhotoShop.

With basic GIMP videos you can get all the skills you need as far as building mini-sites is concerned, but you probably can’t make use of cool stuff like cover action scripts and templates that can only be used in Photoshop.
