Are You Already Marketing On The Internet

by Tricia on July 22, 2009

Have You Begun An Internet Marketing Business?

You may have already considered this question for your own life. If given enough thought, just about any business owner who utilizes the Internet for any purpose, will likely find that whether or not they intentionally organized an Internet marketing campaign, they may already be marketing their products or services on the Internet. This article will examine some subtle ways business owners may already be marketing their business on the Internet.

Does your business have a website? It’s good to know, that businesses that already have an internet website, more than likely already have their product or services online, simply because they have a website. When a business has an active website, then it has the potential for getting site visitors. You may not be actively promoting your website but you may still find that it generates interest in your products despite the lack of promotional endeavors; this is a form of passive marketing.

Do you participate in message boards and include a link to your website in your signature? Again business owners who answer ’yes’, to this question, are already marketing their website online. Savvy business owners realize the importance of participation in industry related message boards to create an interest in their products and services, while they work to establish themselves as knowledgeable about the industry, they will also offer a link to their own website, that can be found usually along the bottom of the page. However, even business owners who do not realize this, may already be inadvertently enjoying the benefits of Internet marketing which results from message board participation.

Have you added specific keywords that are related to your business in your website? Optimizing a website by using keywords or keyword phrases will only work to your advantage in effectively promoting your online business. Essentially this type of search engine optimization (SEO), will effect the density of the result pages and search engine ranking and this can happen whether a business owner is aware of the keyword concept or not. Business owners will likely use certain words, based on the type of products and services they offer, just because it is natural and logical to do so. This can result in search engines boosting your website rankings for these particular keywords. The concept of SEO is much more involved and complex than simply using keywords frequently, but business owners can gain some benefit just by naturally applying relevant keywords to their website.

Do you solicit feedback from your customers online? Again, this would be another way business owners are sometimes marketing on the internet without realizing it. Most business owners realize the importance of soliciting feedback from customers for business purposes and business owners who offer products online might solicit feedback in the form of surveys. Although the business owners may be doing this simply for a business purpose, the fact that it is done online makes it fall into the category of Internet marketing.

Now that we have looked at some of the effective ways, website business owners can take advantage of internet marketing, we should take a brief look at how they can build their online awareness. Even if a business owner was marketing online unintentionally, they may now want to begin increasing their marketing potential via the internet. The best way to do this is to hire a consultant with experience in Internet marketing, who can assist you in creating a campaign which is effective for your target audience.

Online marketing is full of persons or businesses that offer their help or products, however, some of these are not worth the money and you would do best to research them thoroughly.

Get-Paid-To Programs for WAHM’s

by Tricia on July 22, 2009

get paid to take online surveys

“Get paid to” programs (or GPTs as they are often called) are one of the many ways that Wahms can make money from home. If you’ve been looking for a work at home job, you’ve no doubt run across ads that claim that you can make money by reading e-mails, get paid to take surveys, and trying free samples. The good news is many Wahms make money doing those exact things. The bad news is that this particular industry is rife with scammers. If you are interested in getting involved with GPT programs, you’ll have to do your homework and take special precautions to protect yourself and your computer.

It should be noted that very few people make full time income from GPT programs. Like mystery shopping, GPT should be used as a supplemental income source at best. Get paid to programs is an easy way to make the extra cash when required for busy WAHM’s. People who have experience with the programs recommend that you never rely on GPT to pay your monthly bills. But they can be a perfect solution to earn money for a special occasion or holiday shopping.

Just what are GPT programs? They fall into three basic categories: get paid to read e-mail, paid to take surveys and get paid to try products. Each type has its own pros and cons. Before you start any GPT program, you should take some steps to protect your personal information. You will be required to give your personal information for many of these programs and the less you actually say about yourself the better.

Get paid to read e-mail programs will pay you a few cents for receiving e-mail and clicking on links. Normally these e-mails offer special deals on products or encourage you to sign up for programs. Sometimes, depending on the e-mail program, you will get more money or “points” if you try the offer. You are not obligated to try the offers, and will get paid a small amount just for clicking on the link inside of the e-mail. Popular paid e-mail programs are available. Do some research before you sign up for a program to make sure that people are actually getting paid. Try not to sign up for too many programs at once or your GPT e-mail address will be swamped.

Getting paid to make money taking surveys works in a similar way. You will sign up for a survey program and then fill out some personal information. You will be matched to surveys that are looking for the opinions of people in your income bracket, of your age or one of several different qualification factors. You will get paid per survey, depending on the company and can redeem points earned. Just as with get paid to read e-mail programs, do research on survey companies before you sign up. Out of the hundreds available, only a select few are worth the time.

Finally there are get paid to try products programs. These programs pay significantly more than the other GPT programs. However, you will be required to pay anywhere from $1 to $10 to try the products. Be cautious of these types of programs as you may need to cancel a service or return an item. Most of the time you will be registered for recurring billing for a monthly service, which can be cancelled within the initial 7 to 14 days. You can call the companies and cancel the service, yet still be paid for signing up for the GPT program.

Remember that GPT programs are a great way to supplement income but are not something to be relied on for monthly bills.

For a promoter starting out they have to work hard and on a budget to get an audience of a few hundred people to fill a venue. Flyers, word-of-mouth and social networks are some of the methods promoters can use to try and encourage people to venues or club nights. Building up a loyal following from scratch is no easy task. For an up and coming band a lot of effort can go into attracting enough people to fill even the smallest of venues and those promoting the event need to take every opportunity to establish a relationship with the audience that will continue beyond the end of the performance.

With a minimal outlay and a little thought online surveys will help the promoter gather valuable feedback and the opportunity to establish a long term relationship with their audience. Using online Survey Software a promoter can now quickly and easily create an online survey.

With an online survey a promoter can find out exactly:-

  • who attended;
  • what persuaded them;
  • what they thought of the event;
  • would they expect to attend again;
  • would they recommend future events to their friends.

A way to ensure a good response is to have a number of business sized cards that are marked clearly with words like “Feedback”, “Your opinion counts”, “Tell us what you thought”. Each card would have a web address pointing either directly to the survey or to a website where a link to the survey can be placed. Cards can be issued at the entrance along with the tickets, or handed out among the audience and if they are made the size of business cards they will be small enough to be stick in a pocket, purse or wallet. It may not even be necessary but a small incentive wouldn’t harm the response rate perhaps the chance to win a free guest pass for a future event, a signed CD or T shirt.

Using the results from online surveys the promoter is able to:

  • Obtain a profile of the audience
  • Gauge the overall success of the event;
  • Measure the effectiveness of different promotion;
  • Receive feedback on the venue and facilities;
  • Receive feedback on the act;
  • Promote on a one on one basis;
  • Build a targeted database for future events;
  • Build a loyal audience;
  • Link to merchandise and other promotions.

Considering the effort that it takes to promote an event and the little extra effort required in using online surveys to encourage further contact and all the immediate and long term benefits that will bring – it really couldn’t be any easier.

The following example shows the feedback that could be used for a breaking band. Not only does it gather valuable feedback, but continues to promote the band, their recorded music and establishes the opportunity to encourage further contact.
