Social Bookmarking Software: Which is Best?

by Tricia on September 16, 2009

I really hope social bookmarking is on your to do list. Social bookmarking is king in these days. {One of the biggest being backlinks}. You’ve probably seen sites like this such as Digg and Mixx.

There are so many benefits to social bookmarking. However the greatest benefit is back links. See, the process of submitting social bookmarking links is “authority”. It helps differentiate yourself from the others.

You see, this makes you look important through Google’s eyes, and as a result your traffic improves. How many people do you know have the time to do this? Most people are stingy with their time and would rather use it for other purposes. Only submitting multiple links, will you be able to really make a mark on the search engines. And that is where social bookmarking software comes in.

I have installed, tested, purchased and returned many social bookmarking software packages that promised to submit to social bookmarking websites. The one I finally chose and decided to use is located here: http://www.socialbot.org. I can’t express how much better this software was. It even went through captchas without an issue. Another plus is that the software did not cause any problems on my computer. I can’t express the importance the software plays in my business plan.

If you are looking to increase social bookmarking links, I highly recommend you take at SocialBot. This social bookmarking tool will let you save time and avoid the plague of going from site to site typing in your links manually. Save all that extra time for your family or kids.

Understanding the Value of Site and Page Rank

by Tricia on September 16, 2009

Search engine rankings can mean different things to different people. Some people may think they rank number one in the search engines. However, they actually only have one keyword term that has a number one position in Google. And that keyword may not receive actually add any real benefit to their website at all. Which is why every site owner needs to understand the difference between ranking well and gaining a few good keyword page positions.

It’s time to understand a few search engine optimization terms so that you can better understand what will actually improve your own search engine results.

In general a search is conducted in a search engine like Google using keywords that represent the information the user is seeking. The results of that keyword search is a listing of websites that contain related content of the keyword searched.

Many times this is where the confusion starts. If a site appears in the top of these results some might think this means their site has a high rank. However, obtaining a high position does not mean the site is ranking well. It simply means it ranked well for a single search term.

The first thing to understand is that Google actually places a page rank on every page in their search results. The rank is from zero to ten, with ten being the highest. A site can have a page rank of zero and still rank well for many keyword search terms. The opposite is true too. A site can have a general rank of five and have a lower page position than a site with no established page rank. So you can see how this can become rather confusing.

Perhaps it would do well to consider ranking in a more general way. A site that ranks well will have many traffic generating keyword search terms that obtain a high page position in the search results

Let’s get back to obtaining a high page position in the search results. Many SEO savvy marketers will gain new clients that want to obtain a higher page position in the search results by promising them a “high rank”. Included in this promise is offering to help their website rank well for search terms that include the name of their City and State. The price for this service can be anywhere from $60.00 a month to thousands of dollars a month.

Offering to get your site to rank well for 10 or 20 keyword search terms that drive little or no traffic to your site is worthless as it offers absolutely no real value to the site owner at all. What a business owner needs to understand is that obtaining a high page position for any keyword search term is only beneficial if it is a keyword term or phrase that their clients are using to find their type of business.

What good does it do for your business to have the number one position for the keyword search term, “Sam’s Pest Control, San Francisco, CA” if no one ever uses it to find a pest control business in San Francisco, Ca?

On the other hand obtaining the number one position for the search term, “San Francisco Pest Control,” a keyword search term that people do type into Google could be worth the time, money and effort to achieve it.

The fact is any SEO savvy person can help your site rank well for a whole keyword search terms that add little or no value to your site simply by adding the name of your business and the city and state to the keyword phrase. This little trick is something that can be done one time to your site with about 5 minutes spent off your site. I’ve seem many clients faces turn very red in anger after they understand just how much money they’ve wasted paying for SEO services like this.

The more you understand the basics of search engine optimization the more equipped you will be to spend your money wisely on SEO for your own business website online. Learn more about Redding search engine optimization services at ReddingSEO.com.

three do not does for seo

by Tricia on September 6, 2009

Hidden text and hidden links are big trouble and something you should never do in SEO.

Hidden text may contain keywords which has the same color as background. A hidden link is simply a link which is not visible to the nacked eye, but the search engine robots would follow.

It might be a graphic which is only one pixel by one pixel and the same color as the background.

If a search engine detects text in the same color as the background, it might penalize or even ban your site. In fact, one search engine expert has even suggested that if your background is, say, white, and you have a black table with white text on your page, that search engines would read that as hidden text (white background, white text) even though the text is clearly visible in the black table.

doorway is not a good way. Usually there is just a link to another site or auto redirect. doorway page can be only seen by search engine, human won’t find it.

By the way, “doorway pages ” are not the same as “entry pages”. You can get lots of my traffic entering through one or another of my articles. But these are real articles with real content, designed for human eyes and optimized for the search engines. This is a good tactic, because it adds content (which is what search engines are looking for).

Duplicate pages are not suggested. Search engines like original content made for human visitors. same article appears in 5 page will be considered as spam, althouth you have made a few changements in each page.

You can optimize your site for the keywords you want instead of cheating the search engines? It probably will cost you less to hire a Search Engine Optimization expert, and your website will not get banned. And those 10 seo tips are very useful, I highly commend have a read of those tips.

Hidden links and text, doorway pages and duplicate pages are just a few of the “clever” tactics that can land you in the “Search Engine Slammer”. suppose you spend many times on internet, you will be approached about many others sooner or later.
